Memorable Quotes

Though we can never leave life without experiencing some measure of loss, grief, and pain, misery is optional--as is happiness.

Beverly Campbell

When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, "I used everything you gave me."

DONE.....FINISHED....FINI

I am through cleaning my sewing room! While it will never reach type A personality standards, it's good enough for me. Let's take a quick tour.

This dresser is full of fat quarters and smaller pieces of fabric....don't look inside unless you really need to....that is another project. Notice the pink Almond Roca container...that is my stash of buttons. My grandkids play with them while I am sewing. Bring back any memories? The cow stool....well, we gave that to my in-laws. They ran a grade A dairy. My mother-in-law was embarrassed by the teats so she made a cover to go over it. My grandkids sit on the stool and watch me sew.

I have a small cutting table but it is all I have room for. My hubby put it up on pvc pipe extenders so I don't have to bend over to cut. It makes a huge difference. He also put a shelf between the legs for more storage. See that fabric bundle on the quilting table? I am rebelling and starting a new project. I bought the kit two years ago. I think it's about time to sew it.

My Janome is back from a checkup and ready to get busy. I have a nice view out my window of our back yard.....lots of birds and our cat trying to catch them. It's almost an impossibility. She can't keep her long, long tail still. I put a sheet over my fabric closet to keep the fabric from fading and you can see that I listen to music all the time....classical, pop whatever hits my fancy.

Let's go back to this view. Notice the wire shelving that goes over the window. My hubby put that on three walls. I put all my plastic containers up there. It is amazing how much I can store on those shelves. He didn't put it on the fourth wall because that is my design wall.

Now for the rest of the story.......this is what is on my bed right now. Three of the boxes contain donated fabric for humanitarian quilts. The plastic container is fat quarters. One of the boxes is full of projects I need to finish and one has my completed projects that are on Etsy or are for sale. The green and blue box is Pendleton wool that my mom bought while she worked there many years ago. I know I can figure out a special project using that wool. This will need to go back in my room but at least it is all organized and I know where everything is.

Maybe I can get back to being normal instead of so grumpy about things now........ or maybe not.

Have a good day!

Yay! I have to admit that I am a teency bit jealous of your sewing room, but all things will come in their season, right?

Oh, and in my book, fabric that you bought to make a quilt out of two years ago still counts as project probation projects.
