Memorable Quotes

Though we can never leave life without experiencing some measure of loss, grief, and pain, misery is optional--as is happiness.

Beverly Campbell

When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, "I used everything you gave me."

My good friend, Regena, at Quilt n Quilt Things asked me to help her with a round robin. I said no...I had too much going on. She was very persistent. I told her if she asked again I really wasn't going to do it! She waited...not too patiently...and asked me about a month later. I relented since I was out of school. You need to understand that she is a type AAA personality. I must say I think she is now a type AA personality. I still love her like a sister no matter how much grief she gives me for being a ZZZ personality. Anyway....she brought the center of the top over and I had it ready to give back to her in about four days! Boy, was she surprised.

The colors aren't quite true in this photo. The red is really more of a rust color. This will end up being a king size when we are finished. It is a donation quilt for our church.

Another great Weekend! Our son and his family came to stay with us for a few days. They had a wedding on Friday. Saturday morning my daughter-in-law and I went over to longarm. She took pictures but I forgot to download them to my computer. When we arrived back home we discovered that the engineers had been busy. Our son brought a water slide over since it was going to be hot. It just didn't look long enough for my husband, the engineer, so this is what we found when we came back home:

They had added about 3o feet of black industrial plastic to the slide. The boys were already having fun. Now some of the adults were ready to try it.

Several different techniques were tried.

Some just kept flying over the edge.

Some were more successful than others.

When the boys got tired they played in the "pirate ship" for awhile and then went back for more fun on the water slide.

Later in the day our other son and family came. New techniques were introduced.

Some were very creative.

Some needed a little extra effort to make it to the end.

We had a delicious bbq and then headed up to Sandy to watch the fireworks. It was a great show. The adults in the above escapades are very sore to this day. I was smart enough to take pictures.

I have quilting pics. Just copy and paste from my blog. :) Thanks for letting us come and stay. We had a great time. And yes - the boys are still sore. :)

LOL! Your oldest granddaughter is still so sore that I had to help her get up from the couch today. She was worried about the other adults and how they must be feeling.

I know I would be VERY sore if I tried any of that stuff. LOL
